Bonfire On Bitter Hill

It has become tradition that on the longest night of winter, after the feast, brands lit from the fire at the Hall of the Warmest Hearth are carried to the top of Bitter Hill, the coldest spot in the county. Ritually re-enacting the old legend of the Defeat of Winter’s Queen ensures warm weather and good growing conditions for the whole region next year. This year the honour of the task falls to you.
